2020 Copper Camp Day 1
Today was one of the best days on Copper I can remember!” Edry reflected. Not only did we have blue skies, sun, perfect snow, we also had the mountain to ourselves. With the new COVID restrictions, Copper is not open to the public, just to private camps. These numbers are also restricted per lane and as a result our athletes had a full day of ripping on snow that never skied off, zero lift lines, ample room on training lanes, and wide-open trails to do fundamentals work. Of course, there are many kinks to work out with all the changes, and new systems in place, but today seemed seamless. And despite what is happening in the world, everyone had big smiles on their faces, and seemed grateful to just be outside doing something they love: ski racing!! Although we have limited gathering opportunities, Edry did take a group of 8 kids on an optional morning warm-up run and stretch. Pez and Bors lead a group of 5 on 5 for snow football. Krissy will also be leading a stretching zoom class Tuesday afternoon for anyone interested, parents included! Zoom information will be sent out Monday night.
